Erza Scarlet Fanart

We have our own reasons on longing or not longing for the resume of classes in our respective school campuses. If Erza were to graduate while lots of issues continue to happen around the world, what do you think her first remark and expression will be?

Hi, welcome to a page of my sketchpad!

It’s graduation season once again, so I wanted to draw a character in that theme! I don’t see much of the “toga” we use in the Philippines or Western countries, worn by characters in Japanese anime's, so I just added a flower corset and the black thingy they’re given usually. Actually, this is kind of a collaboration with an international friend in my Amino account, and she made a Mirajane Strauss version of this theme as well. I chose Erza Scarlet because she’s my all-time favorite character in the anime Fairy Tail, my first-ever watched anime all my life since childhood. If you haven’t, check it out, it’s a feel-good anime that you can watch to de-stress yourself from school works. ^^

I'm most proud of

maybe the details I took time to add in the skirt. It wasn’t planned and I was hesitating, but before it was so plain that it bothered me slight, so I went for it. It looks pretty good right? Well, more or less? I was going for a little showing of the fabric threads in the skirt, and I just hope it turned out well for you. Oh, and lastly, the anatomy looks more stable for me, compared to my previous artworks. I know it’s because of the references I used but I think this is definitely a step for my improvement!

I'm not happy about

the way I colored shadows. Following my previous artwork, I outlined with brown color pencil, but this time I used I used it as well for all the shadows. I don't particularly hate it, but it didn't turn out how I expected it to look beforehand. If I would explain, maybe the coloring looked a lot messier after I tried it out.

It's been a while since I last watched Fairy Tail. As I recall, I previously rewatched just my favorite story arc which is the Grand Magic Games. Hmm should I rewatch all the episodes? I guess I eventually would, but unfortunately I don't think that'll be anytime soon. If I were to have time to rewatch an anime, most probably I'll be choosing one with fewer episodes first, since there's still so much on my list. Plus, there are more to-watch series I'd like to try this quarantine.
