Powerpuff Girls in Anime Style
Just because we desire female rights, doesn't mean we're in need of protection. In fact, we voice out our rights exactly because we refuse to be weak. We are strong! Believe that female can also do what male do. Be confident! Raise your hearts, attagirls!

Hi, welcome to a page of my sketchpad!
Using my brown color pencil for outlines all the time made it so little that I needed to use another color, so today is violet day! I was quite nervous because I’ll be trying violet for the first time, but as you can see, I don’t think it became an issue afterwards. Powerpuff Girls is one of the many childhood shows I did NOT watch, because my head was already filled with anime at a young age. But I came across a picture of these three when I was bored, and I thought “Drawing them? Why not?” I had so much fun visualizing how Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles could look like in my art style, and viola! Here’s the final product.
I'm most proud of
the overall appearance, definitely. To me, Buttercup’s jacket look just killed it! Her earphones going around her shoulders look so iconic, even though that’ll probably look weird in real life. But oh well, that’s anime~ Oh, and Blossom’s ribbon looks cute, I got it inspired from Chitoge’s ribbon in Nisekoi. Blossom’s hand looks pretty decent as well, considering that it’s the detail I was most worried about. I had a lot of fun in doing their hair, and adding a lot of details in contrast to the original. Also, one of the best parts of this piece that I’m proud about, is of course, the coloring. I feel so satisfied with how I can’t see the color pencil strokes as much as before, and I can see for myself my own improvements.
I'm not happy about
how big Bubbles’s head turned out, in contrast to how small her body seemed. Although, in a way, I think it’s still a little acceptable because of the picture angle, considering that I was trying to go for a selfie appearance.
As of now, I’m still thinking of other cartoon characters that I’d want to draw in my style, because I really enjoyed this piece and I’d love to do it again with another character. Hmmm Disney princesses aren’t so bad either. Any suggestions from the cartoons in your childhood?
